The USC Roski School of Fine Arts supplemental application consists of a portfolio of 10-15 slides in a clear plastic slide sheet, or scanned images on a CD, plus a personal statement. DO NOT submit original artwork or prints or books of artwork. Transfer students are required to additionally submit two letters of recommendation from their art instructors. Submit supplemental application and materials in a simple, manila-type envelope directly to the Roski School of Fine Arts, postmarked by the application due date. For return of your materials please include a self-addressed STAMPED envelope; otherwise, materials will not be returned.
A panel of studio faculty evaluates applications for originality, clarity, personal insight, and artistic excellence. Considerable importance is placed on the personal statement, portfolio, and letters of recommendation (for transfer students only) which give the committee a sense of the individual and play a critical role in determining the final selection. Recommendations for admission are sent to the USC Office of Admission for final decision review.
