Michael Parker's MFA Thesis Exhibition, "May Day: Control the Power - Follow the Energy," was on display at the Gayle & Ed Roski MFA Gallery at USC in April and consisted of a series of video and photography created this Spring with the Lineman Class at Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC). The Lineman Class is a course teaching the skills and precision required of a power pole technician. The fifty person class met 6:45am–2:30pm five days per week, with the first artwork presentation ("May Day") two-thirds of the way through the sixteen week term.
The event on June 2nd will include climbing, food, a DJ harmonizing with the Blue Line trains and clinking of climbing gear, and the release of a Lineman Class Yearbook in the form of a newspaper.
