Britt Salvesen is the curatorial head of both Photography and Prints & Drawings for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Previously she served as Director and Chief Curator at the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, Tucson. She has also worked as Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at and the Milwaukee Art Museum and, before that, as Associate Editor of Scholarly Publications at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Salvesen, who earned her PhD in Art History at the University of Chicago in 1997, is the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Residency, a Getty Curatorial Research Fellowship, and a Rhoades Curatorial Fellowship. She is the author of Harry Callahan: The Photographer at Work, which was published by the Center for Creative Photography and Yale University Press in 2006.
