This course presents students with the basic concepts used in building residential dwellings. Lectures include step-by-step guidance in framing, masonry, plumbing and electrical. A collaborative project will provide hands-on experience in building a cross section of a small structure. Art students interested in sculpture, Installation and Public Art, as well as majors in theater and film (set design and construction) are encouraged to take this class. Plus there are several handy tips on everything from tool safety to sourcing materials.
