The objective of this course is to continue the development of an individual or independent relationship between you as an artist and the medium of photography in a fine arts context; to expand an understanding of historical and contemporary works, issues and concerns; to work continuously through the semester on your own work toward the presentation of a coherent and relevant final project or body of work.
This course will be devoted to the development of a single, in-depth project initiated by the student. Be prepared to formally show and discuss your work in progress once every three weeks. This advanced projects class is a combination of group critique, lecture/discussion and studio lab. We seek to set an advanced forum for discussion, debate and critique where we can deal with issues at the most advanced level. Your commitment to advanced discourse and practice is expected. This is not a required course and it is assumed that you are here because you wish to participate at this level.
