Karen Koblitz received her BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts & California State University, Northridge, and she earned her MFA at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her work is included in public collections at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Skirball Cultural Center, and the Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art; and she has exhibited work at LACMA, Palazzo Dei Consoli in Gubbio, Italy, the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, and the Tucson Museum of Art. In 2002 Koblitz received an Alumni Achievement Award from the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin. In October of that year, she was named American Art Ambassador to Moscow, Russia as part of the U.S. State Department's ART in Embassies Program.
