Shannon Ebner

Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Shannon Ebner lives and works in Los Angeles, and teaches photography at the Roski School of Fine Arts. Ebner's work has been included in a host of important group exhibitions, including the 2010 Berlin Biennial, “Trace” at The Whitney Museum of American Art at Altria, “Uncertain States of America” at The Serpentine Gallery in London, “Learn to Read” at the Tate Modern, and the 2008 Whitney Biennial. She has had one-person exhibitions at Wallspace Gallery and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, both in New York, and Altman Siegel, in San Francisco, among others.

Ebner's monograph, The Sun as Error, coordinated by New York design duo Dexter Sinister, was published by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2009. Her work graced the cover of Artforum International in April 2010. Ebner earned her BA from Bard College and her MFA from Yale University.
