The USC Roski School of Fine Arts Internship Program helps bridge the gap between an undergraduate student's university-acquired skills and lead to jobs in the professional art world. Internships in arts-related professions increase the student's skills and contacts while building a portfolio and resume. Students gain insight into possible career opportunities and receive credit for their work while completing a professional internship. Internship sites include film and TV companies such as Walt Disney Studios, Sony Studios, Nickelodeon, ABC, NBC and CBS, various special effects and post-production companies, museums, galleries, advertising agencies, graphic design firms, and artist's studios. The Internship Program is open to all junior and senior fine arts majors provided they have completed the core program and have maintained satisfactory progress toward their degree.

Nicole Aronson, art major, design emphasis.  Internship site:  ESPN ABC Sports Network.
"I was flown to Bristol, CT to see the ESPN headquarters where they filmed shows such as Sports Center.  I met a number of broadcasters and made some valuable connections.  I also attended the ESPY awards and the X-Games as a member of the sales and advertising department."

Karina Anaya, art major, psychology minor.  Internship site:  Children's Hospital, Los Angeles.
"Something I've taken with me from this experience in the profund emotional relief that art therapy provides.  And being bilingual has permitted me a more intimate understanding of patient psychology and family dynamics which are crucial to the success of an art therapy program in a medical setting."

Julianne Donohoe, art major, painting emphasis.   Internship site:  Denver Museum of Contemporary Art.
"I painted walls and hung pieces but also worked with artist Rebecca Vaughn.  I assisted her in designing her space and putting her installation together. It was so interesting to see how an exhibition actually comes together, how much work is involved and how a museum is run."

Michael Schaffer, film major, photography minor.  Internship site:  MTV Studios.
"I worked in Series Development, and one day I was chosen, among all the other eight interns, to accompany a producer on the set of her new show.  The whole day I sat in a producer's chair along side of her, watching everything that went on.  The entire time she was explaining how everything worked.  I was like a sponge. I got to experience all facets of a TV shoot, working backstage with the producer, director, director of photography and stage manager.  What a day!"
