Funding
The USC Roski School of Fine Arts offers generous funding to MFA candidates. These awards are available to both incoming and continuing students, regardless of their country of citizenship.
The Teaching Assistantship (TA) award covers the cost of tuition for one full year and includes a monthly stipend, along with medical and dental benefits. Teaching Assistants are required to work ten (10) hours per week assisting a faculty member in an undergraduate course, and provide an opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience.
First-year awards are granted during the admissions process. No special application is necessary for these awards; all applicants are automatically considered. Awards for second-year students are allocated at the end of the first year, and are based on merit.
Applicants who are citizens of the United States can also apply for government-sponsored loans through the USC Office of Financial Aid. Students who are not U.S. citizens are not eligible for these loans, but may be eligible for loans in their country of origin.
