Undergraduate Students

All FA majors have a mandatory advisement requirement. In order to get D-clearance and/or register for Spring 2010 classes, you MUST make an appointment and meet with a FA advisor. We encourage students to schedule their appointment as early as possible during the designated dates below.

Fine Arts majors will be advised according to class standing, based on the number of units completed. To find out your class standing, go to https://my.usc.edu/, click OASIS, then "STARS Report".

Class Standing Appointments can be made for the following dates:
SENIORS* (96+ units completed), double majors, and NCAA Fine Arts majors October 2–8
JUNIORS (64-95 units completed) October 9–19
SOPHOMORES (32-63 units completed) October 26–30
FRESHMEN (0-31 units completed)November 2–5

*Seniors: If your STARS report has the message, "All requirements completed, in progress courses used," and you are not planning to register for any courses next term, you DO NOT need to come in for advisement!

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

  1. Undergraduates can schedule an appointment online up to two weeks in advance with Christina Aumann (student with last names A-K) or Antonio Bartolome (last names L-Z) at https:/my.usc.edu/. After the <Home> and <Libraries> tabs at the top, you should see a third tab, <Advisement>. Click on it and scroll down to schedule an appointment with us.
  2. If you cannot access the MyUSC Advisement tab on your home computer, please use a computer at one of our campus libraries.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

  1. It is mandatory for ALL students to bring a current printout of their STARS report to their advisement appointment. This is available at MyUSC: go to OASIS, then click on "STARS Report."
  2. ALSO BRING YOUR semester-by-semester COURSE PLAN—either the most current plan generated by your major advisor, or one you've created yourself, based on your Spring 2009 enrollment and all remaining degree requirements (university, major, and minor).
