Thanks for your interest in applying to the USC Roski School of Fine Arts.
For most applicants, there are four requirements: (1) USC application, (2) portfolio of recent artwork, (3) artist statement, and (4) transcripts and test scores. In addition to those four requirements, transfer applicants must submit (5a) at least two letters of recommendation, and international applicants must submit (5b) TOEFL scores.
Step-by-step instructions on how to apply are below. If you have any questions at any step, please don't hesitate to contact us.
1. Complete a USC application.
Submit the Common Application and the USC Supplement online at www.commonapp.org.
2. Upload your portfolio.
Upload a portfolio of 10 to 15 images of artwork you've made within the last two years at roski.slideroom.com.

3. Upload your artist statement.

4. Submit your transcripts and test scores.
Submit your high school transcripts and scores from either (1) the SAT or (2) the ACT with the optional Writing Test. Transfer applicants with less than 30 transferable college semester units or 45 quarter units must also submit SAT or ACT scores, in addition to copies of their high school and college transcripts.

5b. For international applicants only
If your native language is not English, submit your TOEFL score.
All international applicants whose native language is not English must take the TOEFL. International applicants with minimum scores of 600 on SAT Critical Reading or 27 on ACT English are exempt from taking the TOEFL. Applicants with minimum scores of 100 on TOEFL iBT (with at least 20 in each section) are presumed to be proficient. The TOEFL must have been taken within the past two years from application date.
International applicants whose native language is English are presumed to be proficient. This includes applicants from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada (except Quebec), where English is both the main language of the country and the language of instruction.
USC does not accept the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication).

December 1, 2011 — Freshman application and portfolio deadline for scholarship consideration
January 10, 2012 — Freshman application and portfolio deadline for regular consideration
February 1, 2012 — Transfer application and portfolio deadline for scholarship and regular consideration
For mailed materials like transcripts, test scores and letters of recommendations, all dates are postmark deadlines.
