Staying is always difficult. (red and yellow photoseries)
There was never a time staying was easy in our household. We stayed in that house trying to build a home with the wrong formula: scraps of pain, complacency, and negligence. But we stayed, because this was the only home we knew and had. We stayed, because we did love each other, but we didn’t know how to love in the right ways. The series is my fractured roaming of trying to find homes, of trying to create a home within myself, and to seek it in places that are and have been homes for others. However, the staying is always difficult.
I work in digital and ink media. Much of my fine art work revolves around trans* identity in a diasporic viet context.
