Bob Alderette maintains a painting practice and studio in Sunset Beach, California, and is an Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing in the Roski School of Art and Design, University of Southern California, where he teaches all levels of painting and drawing.
As a university art studio professor he has been deeply involved in teaching and mentoring students in painting and drawing from beginning through advanced level courses. His philosophical and pedagogical approach and practice is strongly committed to contemporary art imagery and critical thinking in understanding works of art. Within his art practice and as a teacher he maintains a strong commitment to research of contemporary culture, philosophy and the study of imagery within the history of painting and drawing.
Bob has exhibited his paintings in both national and international venues. He has also studied, exhibited and taught in Italy, Switzerland, Japan and France. His work is in the public collection of the Orange County Art Museum, Laguna Art Museum, Honolulu Contemporary Art Museum as well as pubic and corporate collections in Japan. His work is in private collections in the United States, Japan and France.
