Yishan Xin

Yishan is a curator based in Shanghai. She received her BA in Arts and Sciences and MA in Art and Design in Education from the University College London (UCL). She is passionate about unlocking alternative museum models, especially the potential of private museums in China. Her curatorial practice centers on participation, emancipation of the spectators, and art as experience. Between 2020-2021, She has worked in the Research and Exhibitions Departments of Long Museum Shanghai, home to China’s largest private collection. She has helped curate five exhibitions, including American artist George Condo’s first major retrospective in Asia, Loie Hollowell: Recalibrate, Mary Corse: Painting with Light, Jonas Burgert: blüht und lügt, and Pat Steir Solo Exhibition.
