About the exhibition

Ari Silverman’s solo exhibition I Used to Sit in My Hot Pink Bedroom, Not Expecting Much showcases works influenced by themes of ephemerality, nostalgia, and girlhood. The show focuses on maternally inherited objects, recreating domestic “things” from both the artist's and artist’s mother’s childhood. Through large-scale ceramic and installation works, these pieces broadly explore the obsessions and compulsions behind collecting (and cultivating) personal history.
