Artist's Statement

My chronic illnesses remind other people that their own bodies are fragile, and that thought makes them uncomfortable. In the exhibition "Patient," I want my artwork to make them uncomfortable too, but I also want them to see the beauty in it. If they can see the beauty, hopefully they can overcome their fears and realize that illness is just a universal human experience.
