ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Art in Mexico City is a digital panel discussion that seeks to strengthen the cultural bridge between Los Angeles and Mexico City. Three Mexico-based arts professionals will discuss the social conditions and formative events that shaped their career development. Alivé Piliado, having previously worked at the Museo Nacional de Arte (National Museum of Art, MUNAL), will highlight practical perspectives on the work of curation. Sebastian Vizcaino, co-founder of Salón ACME, an annual art fair that collaborates with local galleries and artists, will speak to the conditions of the art fair. Andrea Nuñez will discuss her work with SOMA, an intensive program for international artists, curators, critics, and art historians, as well as her experiences assisting art collectives throughout Mexico. Together, these speakers offer a kaleidoscopic view of Mexico's creative sphere during a time of rapid changes.
