ABOUT THE ARTIST
Heidi Lau (b. 1987) grew up in Macau and currently lives and works in New York, New York. Recent Solo Exhibition includes Spirit Vessels, Matthew Brown Los Angeles, Los Angeles (2020); Apparition, the 58th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Venice (2019); The Primordial Molder, the Bronx Museum of the Art, New York (2017) and The Obscure Region II, Macao Art Museum, Macao (2014).
Selected Group Exhibitions include Liquid Ground, Para Site, Hong Kong (2021); Earthly Coil, Magenta Plains, New York (2021); Clay Pop, Jeffrey Dietch, New York (2021); Death Becomes Her, BRIC, Brooklyn (2020); The Future of Craft Part 2, Museum of Art and Design, New York (2018) and A Most Filial Imprint, Aike Dellarco, Shanghai (2017), among others.
Lau's practice has been supported by numerous residencies and awards, including the Emerging Artist Fellowship at Socrates Sculpture Park, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Process Space, the Martin Wong Foundation Scholarship, New York Foundation for the Arts and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptor Grant. Lau was selected as the first Artist-in-Residence at Green-Wood Cemetery.
