USC Roski School of Art and Design Ceremony

Time: 11:00 am

Location: Viterbi School of Engineering Epstein Family Plaza (E-Quad)

Graduate Line up location: check in at 10:15 am at the Harris Hall Courtyard

 

Guest Information

Guests will be seated under shaded sails on the Viterbi School of Engineering Epstein Family Plaza. Seating is first come first serve. Tickets are not required.

 

USC Roski School Commencement Speaker: Margaret Lazzari

Margaret Lazzari is a Professor of Art at the University of Southern California's Roski School of Art and Design.  She received her MFA from Washington University in St. Louis. 

Her work has been shown frequently in galleries and museums, most recently at the Fresno Art Museum and Ruth Bachofner Gallery.  She was named the 2018 Honored Alumna at St. Louis University as part of their Biencentennial observance.  Her works are also included in several public collections including the Cathedral Collection of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles; Metro LA; Huntsville Museum of Art, Alabama; Los Angeles County Health Department; and others.

In early 2019, she completed a major commission for the Caruso Catholic Center and Our Savior Parish at USC. She is also half of the Lazzari Evans Publis Art Design Team, with eight commissions since 2010 in Southern California.

Lazzari is the author of The Practical Handbook for the Emerging Artist, as well as co-author of Exploring Art: A Global, Thematic Approach and two Drawing texts published by Oxford University Press.

 

RECEPTION
A reception will follow immediately after the Roski Ceremony for all Roski students and guests to attend in the Epstein Family Plaza adjacent to the Ceremony. Tickets are not required.

 

REGALIA (CAP & GOWN) RENTAL
Students must wear official USC regalia (cap and gown) at both the main USC and the Roski Ceremonies. Any graduate not wearing appropriate regalia will not be permitted to participate. Regalia can be bought or rented from the USC Bookstores https://commencement.usc.edu/caps-and-gowns-regalia/

 

REGALIA (CAP & GOWN) RETURN

If you are renting your regalia return your cap, gown and hood after the ceremony at the drop-off area outside the Bookstore.

 

COMMENCEMENT BOOK
The commencement book listing every USC graduate's name who is eligible to graduate in Fall 2019, Spring 2019 or Summer 2019, provided the student verifies their own information with Degree Progress or University Publications prior to printing, is only available at USC's Main Ceremony and NOT at the USC Roski Ceremony.

 

DVDs
DVD recordings of the Roski ceremony are not available.

 

GRAD PHOTOS
Grad Images will photograph all graduates at the USC Roski Ceremony as each one crosses the stage.  Grad Images will email complimentary proofs to graduates within 24 hours after the ceremony provided they completed a Commencement Reader Card before the ceremony.  Everyone's photo will be taken. There is no obligation to purchase. Visit www.gradimages.com for more information or to pre-register online.

 

HONOR CORDS
Honor cords will be given to undergraduates who have earned a minimum 3.5 GPA by the end of the Fall 2018 semester at the USC Roski Annual Student Exhibition Opening Reception and Roski Awards on April 30, from 5 PM – 7 PM in the USC Fisher Museum Courtyard. 

Note: Eligibility to wear honor cords is not an indication that academic honors (cum laude, etc.) will be designated on your diploma/academic record since these honors will be awarded after final grades are determined after commencement.

 

PARKING
Parking in any USC parking structure is free on Commencement Day. The parking structure closest to the Roski ceremony is the Downey Way Structure. Enter at the Vermont Avenue onto 36th Place. Parking is extremely limited on campus and parking facilities will fill up early. Please arrive early to obtain parking.

We recommend you take Metro (www.metro.net) if at all possible. It will be running on its usual schedule. Exit Expo Park/USC Station.
