Su Xiaobai Foundation and USC Roski School of Art and Design Launch The Su Xiaobai Curatorial Residency

April 08, 2026

The Su Xiaobai Foundation (SXF), a newly established nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, has announced a new partnership with the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art and Design to support a curatorial residency in Shanghai. The program reflects SXF’s broader mission to advance artists and scholars through exhibitions, research, and international dialogue. Designed to foster sustained inquiry, the residency will provide selected participants with travel, housing, and a living stipend, enabling an extended period of on-site research. Applicants are invited to submit project proposals outlining their research aims and anticipated outcomes, with final awards determined by the SXF Board of Directors following nomination by USC Roski.

SXF and USC Roski are pleased to name Jenny Lin, PhD, Associate Professor of Critical Studies and Director of the MA Program in Curatorial Practices and the Public Sphere, as the inaugural Curatorial Resident. During her time in Shanghai, Dr. Lin will continue research for a forthcoming book begun during her Rome Prize Fellowship and initiate a second book and exhibition project. Her work explores global networks of contemporary art and design, with particular attention to cultural exchange across China, Italy, and the United States.
