USC Roski Announces Rick Lowe as 2026 Commencement Speaker

USC Roski School of Art and Design is pleased to announce that acclaimed artist Rick Lowe will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Commencement ceremony. A leading figure in social practice, Lowe is widely recognized for his community-based projects, including the influential Project Row Houses in Houston and the Watts House Project in Los Angeles.

His work is held in major institutional collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Tate, among others. Lowe is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship and was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Council on the Arts in 2013. He currently serves as professor of interdisciplinary practice at the University of Houston.
