Makena is from Venice, California. She is pursuing a BA in art, and is interested in painting, drawing, and ceramics. Inspired by her Taiwanese, Hawaiian, and Korean background, her works explore how art can spark human connection and unity. Makena is a member of Concerts Committee and is the Literature intern for Dear Asian Youth, which creates zines that strive to uplift Asian voices. In her free time, she loves to dance Hula, crochet, sew, and listen to podcasts.
