Dean Haven Lin-Kirk Visits USC’s New Capital Campus in Washington, D.C.
Dean Haven Lin-Kirk, head of the Gayle Garner Roski School of Art and Design at USC, visited USC’s newly established Capital Campus in Washington, D.C. in mid-April, marking an exciting step forward in expanding the university’s presence and influence in the nation’s capital.
During her visit, Dean Lin-Kirk met with Elyse Levine, Executive Director of the USC Capital Campus, who guided the Dean and her team through a tour of the open facilities and spaces currently undergoing renovation. The visit highlighted the campus’s mission to accelerate USC’s impact, cultivate leadership, and foster key partnerships to address some of the country’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.
Building on USC’s reputation as one of the nation’s leading universities for ideas, research, and innovation, the Capital Campus will significantly expand opportunities for experts, thought leaders, faculty, students, and alumni to serve the public good. The new space is set to become a dynamic hub for interdisciplinary learning, policy research, and public service initiatives—deepening the university’s ties with vital institutions in Washington.
The D.C. location will host academic programs, events, and collaborative projects that bring together students, alumni, and professionals from across sectors.
In addition to exploring the Capital Campus, Dean Lin-Kirk also toured the National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC), led by Roski alum Haili Francis (BFA ’08), who currently works in the Office of Advancement at the NMAAHC. The visit further underscored the strength of the Trojan alumni network and the Roski School’s national reach.
