Hello everyone, my name is Yan Chen, an interior design major at Savannah College of Art and Design and a graduate student at the University of Southern California, where I focus on stage design. Growing up in China, I developed a fascination with how spaces shape human emotions and experiences. What began as a childhood love for building block structures has evolved into a lifelong passion for crafting environments that inspire and connect people. Specializing in log-style design, I blend natural materials—especially wood—with modern functionality to create spaces that feel calm, efficient, and sustainable. Now expanding my creative practice through stage design at USC, I aim to transform stories into immersive spatial experiences that merge visual storytelling with emotional resonance. With an open, collaborative mindset and a strong attention to detail, I strive to design environments that are elegant, purposeful, and deeply connected to the natural world.
