Yutong (Doria) Hou

MFA Design '27

My name is Yutong Hou, and I also go by Doria. I’m from China and hold a B.A. in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Washington. Before joining USC, I worked as a multimedia and digital art designer, focusing on installation art and film production. My work often explores social issues and feminist themes, using design as a medium to provoke reflection and empathy. One of my favorite projects investigates the concept of pregnancy envy and the societal narratives surrounding motherhood. Looking ahead, I hope to further develop my practice in film marketing and visual communication, particularly in the area of film branding and graphic design.
