Michael Thế Khôi Trần

MFA Art '27

Michael Thế Khôi Trần is a Vietnamese Asexual artist based in Orange County, California. Working primarily in markers, painting, found object, mixed media, his work explores themes of cultural diaspora, memory, asexuality, and role playing. Drawing inspiration from his Vietnamese heritage, his family’s work history with textiles, and plants, his practice meshes patternwork, storytelling, and culture in a heavily narrative body of work. Tran has exhibited in Charlie James Gallery, Residency Gallery, Munzon Gallery, and participated in the Los Angeles Lakers: In The Paint program. He earned his BFA from California State University of Long Beach and is pursuing an MFA at the University of Southern California. Within his body of work, he aims to bridge the personal and the universal, offering a space for reflection and connection to those navigating their own stories of displacement and belonging.
