Julia Ryan is a visual artist who works primarily in drawing and painting. Her work explores objects in an array of media, specifically colored pencil, pastel, and oil paint. Julia's work originates from an original photo of a still life, which is then manipulated to create ultimate contrast and saturation. The paintings are meant to read as realistic from afar, yet have evidence of the artist's hand from up close. Julia draws influence from pop art and hyperrealism as she juxtaposes objects of different monetary value into complex and dynamic compositions.

Julia graduated from Locust Valley High School as well as Huntington School of Fine Arts in 2013. She is currently enrolled in the BFA program at the Roski School of Art and Design at the University of Southern California.
